THE

GUEST HAUS

Bed & Breakfast

Washington is in the Heart of Missouri Wine country with over two dozen wineries within a one hour drive. For weekend get-aways the romantic riverfront, beautiful scenery and quaint historic atmosphere will make your visit memorable.

Enjoy a visit to one of the many excellent dining establishments, several are within a few blocks of the Guest Haus. A five mile paved riverfront trail that follows the beautiful Missouri River is a great treat for those who want to take in a morning stroll or bike.

For the romantics, the Guest Haus is perfect for get-aways, anniversaries, and honeymoons. Special arrangements can be made for Carriage Rides and couples massages if set up in advance.

For couples and girlfriend get-aways Washington has great shops. Filled antiques to scrapbooks, clothing to decorative items, you are sure to find that special gift you have been looking for, and something for yourself as well! Washington has it all!

Nearby is the Missouri Photojournalism Hall of Fame, the Washington Historical Society, Gary Lucy Galleries, Larry Pogue Studio, Mid-Missouri Fine Arts Gallery and the historic Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipe factory that is the only one in existance still today.

For those traveling with young people nearby is Six Flags Over Mid-America (located less than 30 minutes away on Interstate 44), the Shaw Nature Reserve, part of the Missouri Botanical Gardens (just 20 minutes from The Guest Haus) and Purina Farms, all great places for families. In Defiance, which a 30 minute drive, is the Daniel Boone Frontier Village with many historic homes including the Boone family.

Guests enjoy a view of the Missouri River from our private patio, and several spots inside the Guest Haus.  Along the river a paved walking and biking trail follows it for about 3 miles.  This picture was taken when the river was in minor flood stage during the summer of 2008.
